It all began when Lindsey P. Rucker was surveying in the 1830s in the state of Tennessee and began working on the boundary of the Republic of Texas in 1836. Since then, there have been multiple state Registered Land Surveyors in the family. The most recent being in the last 75 years of Rucker Surveying.

In June 2015, Charles Patrick Carter, Micah Hamilton, and Kyle Rucker merged companies to form Texas Surveying, Inc. with three offices located in Aledo, Weatherford, and Mineral Wells.
